Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) Is The Only Breast Cancer That Kills.
Metastatic Breast Cancer Canada (MBCC) is dedicated to the unique needs of Canadians with MBC!
Metastasis occurs when cancer has spread from the breast to distant areas of the body — most often lungs, liver, bone and brain.
Estimated new U.S. cases in 2019 = 268,600
Estimated U.S. DEATHS in 2019 = 41,760
Estimated As of January 1, 2017, there were 154,794 women living with MBC in the United States, three in four initially diagnosed with stage I–III breast cancer who later progressed to MBC.
Canada’s statistics have a population proportionate ratio.
People with MBC remain in treatment for the rest of their lives.
There are no reliable statistics to identify how many of us are living with MBC. We do know, however that at least 5,000 Canadians will die from metastatic breast cancer this year.
We welcome all ages, stages and supporters.
